ViVeM Center
ViVeM was founded in 1997 and formerly known as “CPV” (Centre de Production de Vecteurs). It has been funded by Nantes Université, the hospital of Nantes University (CHU de Nantes), INSERM ( Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale) and the Région Pays de la Loire.
Over the past 25 years, the ViVeM center has developed processes for production and characterization of viral vectors, derived from adenovirus, adeno-associated virus (AAV) and lentivirus (LV).
These vectors are intended for in vitro and in vivo gene transfer applications, from fundamental research to the evaluation of therapeutic strategies for the treatment of many diseases such as inherited diseases and cancer.
Closely related to the TaRGeT research teams, ViVeM center supports internal programs and acts as service contractor for external partners.
Today, the ViVeM center is composed of three groups :Vector Core
Production of research / pre-clinical grade viral vectors dedicated to academic teams and biotech / pharma companies
VVPD
Viral Vector Process Development
Focused on developing GMP-compliant production processes and innovative technologies to constantly improve process performance
